Health & Medical Disclaimer
Effective October 13, 2026 · Version 1.0 · Operated by Ashlar Enterprises LLC
LifeAnchor helps you record and organize health information, but it is not a medical device or a medical service and never replaces your doctor, your devices’ own displays, or emergency care.
1.In plain English
This Health & Medical Disclaimer forms part of the LifeAnchor Terms of Service. It applies to every health, fitness, nutrition and wellness feature in LifeAnchor, and to the Emergency Card, the Scientific Calculator and the finance tools where noted below.
2.Not medical advice
3.What the health features do, and don’t do
LifeAnchor’s health features let you record, display and organize information such as vital signs, glucose readings, insulin pump logs, medications and doses, conditions, allergies, nutrition, water, fasting, workouts, body measurements, military fitness test logs, mood and journal entries, habits, health goals and a health timeline.
These features show and log information. They do not:
- diagnose any condition or tell you whether a reading is normal or abnormal for you;
- interpret device data or medical results;
- give medical advice or treatment recommendations; or
- alert a doctor, caregiver or emergency service. LifeAnchor does not watch your readings on your behalf, and no one at Ashlar reviews them to look after your health.
Goals, planners and trackers are tools that you set up. The targets in them are the ones you choose. Talk to your doctor before setting a goal that affects a medical condition.
4.Device readings may be delayed, incomplete or wrong
If you connect a device service, such as Oura, Dexcom or Tidepool, or import a file such as a Tandem pump export, LifeAnchor displays the data as it was received from that service or file. That data:
- may be delayed, because it only arrives when the provider makes it available and when LifeAnchor next syncs;
- may be incomplete, for example if a sync fails, a connection expires, or a file covers only part of a period;
- may be wrong, because of a sensor, device, provider or import error; and
- is not a real-time feed and must not be used as an alarm or alert.
Always rely on your device, its official app, and your care team for current readings and alerts. If a reading in LifeAnchor does not match how you feel or what your device shows, trust your device and your symptoms, and contact your healthcare provider.
5.Never use LifeAnchor for dosing decisions
Follow the dosing instructions from your prescriber, your pharmacist, and your device’s own approved software. Medication label photos and medication lists in LifeAnchor are records for your convenience; check the actual label and your prescription before taking any medication.
6.Emergencies
If you or someone else may be having a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not use LifeAnchor, its AI features, or its messages to seek emergency help.
7.The Emergency Card
The Emergency Card shows information you have entered, such as allergies, medications, conditions, blood type, DNR and organ-donor flags, physician, hospital and notes, to someone with the card’s link or access for a limited time. Please understand its limits:
- It is only as current and accurate as the information you entered. Review it regularly and update it whenever something changes.
- It depends on the person having the link or access, a working device and an internet connection, and on LifeAnchor being available.
- It is not a substitute for a medical ID bracelet or card, an advance directive, a DNR order, or any other legal or medical document, and first responders may not see it or rely on it.
- A DNR or organ-donor flag in LifeAnchor is a note for your own records. It is not a legally effective instruction. Follow the laws where you live for those decisions.
8.AI coach, nutrition and planner features
Some health and fitness features can use AI through the AI provider account your household connects. These features offer general wellness and educational information only. They are not a doctor, dietitian, nutritionist, personal trainer or therapist, and their suggestions can be wrong. In particular:
- The AI coach is designed to refuse to give medical advice, and AI features never interpret vital readings, diagnose, or calculate or adjust insulin or medication.
- Nutrition coaching depends on where you live. In states that regulate individualized nutrition advice, the coach provides general nutrition education only.
- Minors. Health-related AI features are blocked for children under 13. Members under 18 get a coach with stricter rules.
- Nutrition estimates, including estimates from a photo of a meal or from food databases such as Open Food Facts, are approximate. Check labels and talk to your care team if you need precise figures, for example for carbohydrate counting.
See the AI Features Notice for more about how AI features work.
9.Fitness and exercise
Exercise carries a risk of injury and, for some people, serious medical events. Workouts, exercise libraries, plans, suggestions, modifications and fitness-test logs in LifeAnchor are general information, not a prescription.
- Talk to your doctor before you start or significantly change an exercise program, especially if you have a heart condition, are pregnant, are recovering from surgery or injury, or manage a chronic condition.
- The Health Planner asks you to complete a PAR-Q+ physical-activity readiness questionnaire. Answer it honestly. If your answers suggest you should check with a doctor first, do that, and only confirm medical clearance in the app if it is true. If your doctor sets limits, those limits come first.
- Stop exercising and get medical help if you feel chest pain, severe shortness of breath, dizziness, faintness, or pain you do not recognize.
- You are responsible for exercising within your own limits, using equipment safely, and supervising children who exercise.
No result is promised. Nothing in LifeAnchor guarantees weight loss, fitness gains, a test score or any other outcome.
10.Mental health
The Mind journal and mood tracking are private tools for reflection. They are not therapy or counseling No one at Ashlar reviews your entries or responds to them.
11.The Scientific Calculator and finance tools
The same caution applies to LifeAnchor’s numerical tools. The Scientific Calculator computes numerical results to about 12 significant digits, and rounding, input mistakes and software errors can still produce wrong answers. The finance tools, such as budgets and Pay Down debt tracking, produce estimates and projections that depend entirely on the figures you enter.
- Double-check anything that matters, such as a medication dose, a dosage conversion, a loan payment or a tax figure, with an independent method and, where appropriate, a qualified professional.
- The Scientific Calculator is not approved for use in standardized tests or exams.
- Finance tools and Finance AI are not financial, tax, credit or legal advice.
12.LifeAnchor and HIPAA
LifeAnchor is a direct-to-consumer service and is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate; we protect your health information under the consumer health-data laws described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
13.Your responsibility and our liability
You use LifeAnchor’s health, fitness, nutrition and numerical features at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ashlar is not liable for any injury, illness, loss or damage that results from relying on information in LifeAnchor, including device readings, AI output, Emergency Card content or calculations, instead of the advice of a qualified professional or your device’s own displays. The warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability in the Terms of Service apply to this Disclaimer.
