AI Features Notice

Effective October 13, 2026 · Version 1.1 · Operated by Ashlar Enterprises LLC

Which LifeAnchor features use AI, how they run on the AI provider account your household chooses, and the safeguards and limits that apply.

1.In plain English

LifeAnchor does not have its own AI. If your household wants AI features, an admin connects your own account with an AI provider such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. When you use an AI feature, the information it needs goes to that provider, under your account, your provider’s terms, and your bill. AI can be wrong, so check what it says. Remove the key and the AI features switch off.

This AI Features Notice forms part of the LifeAnchor Terms of Service and should be read with our Privacy Policy and Health & Medical Disclaimer.

2.Features that use AI

The following features can use AI when your household has connected an AI provider. Features and availability may change over time.

AreaWhat the AI does
Health & fitnessThe AI coach on the Health Dashboard; the Health Planner’s plan and exercise suggestions; the workout companion; nutrition estimates from a description or a photo of a meal.
Finance (Finance AI)Category suggestions; reading receipt photos into draft transactions; plain-English summaries of a month, a year, a trip or a loan payoff plan; answers to questions about your own spending.
HomeschoolGenerating lesson ideas and plans.
KitchenImporting a recipe from a web page address you provide.
Resume & jobsBuilding a resume or cover letter, reading an existing resume, and importing a job posting from a web page address you provide.
Prompter (project planning and meetings)Suggesting project phases and tasks; transcribing meeting recordings and pulling out action items and key takeaways (transcription uses your household’s OpenAI key).

3.Your household’s own AI provider

LifeAnchor uses a bring-your-own-key model. A household admin connects the household’s own account or API key with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google (Gemini), or another OpenAI-compatible provider. This means:

  • LifeAnchor does not supply AI or pay for it. Your household is billed by the provider for every request, including any overages. Your key, your charges.
  • Your data goes to the provider you chose. When you use an AI feature, the information that feature needs (which may include health, finance or other personal information) is sent to that provider under your household’s account and the provider’s terms. It is not sent to any other AI provider.
  • The provider’s policies apply. The provider may retain, log or use the data according to its own terms and privacy policy and the settings on your account with it. We do not control what the provider does with it. Please read your provider’s policy, for example Anthropic’s Privacy Policy, OpenAI’s Privacy Policy or Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Keep your key safe. We store AI keys encrypted, but you are responsible for keeping your provider account secure and for watching its usage and spending limits.

Because AI providers act for your household under your own agreement with them, they are not listed as our subprocessors. See our Subprocessors list for the service providers we do use.

4.Safeguards

We build limits into LifeAnchor’s AI features. They reduce risk but cannot remove it.

  • Health data stays with approved providers. Health information is only sent to a first-party Anthropic, OpenAI or Google connection that a household admin has attested to. Other compatible providers cannot be used for health features.
  • Finance AI is opt-in. Finance AI is off unless your household turns it on. It never sends account names or account numbers, notes, or family members’ names.
  • No actions on your accounts. AI features do not use tools and cannot take actions for you. They do not move money, send email, or change your records on their own; you decide what to save.
  • No diagnosis or dosing. AI features never interpret vital readings, diagnose, or calculate or adjust insulin or medication. The AI coach blocks medical advice.
  • Nutrition by state. In some states, nutrition coaching is limited to general education.
  • Rate limits. We limit how often AI features can be used, to keep the service reliable.
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or inappropriate, even with these safeguards. Always check AI output before you rely on it, and never use it as a substitute for professional medical, financial, legal or other advice.

5.Age limits

  • All AI features are blocked for children under 13 — health, homeschool, resume, recipe and every other AI feature. A child account with no birthday on file is treated as under 13. If LifeAnchor cannot confirm that the block does not apply, the feature does not run.
  • Members under 18 get an AI coach with stricter rules.
  • Finance AI is for adults (18+) only.
  • Other AI features, such as homeschool lessons, resume tools and recipe import, do not check age. They are meant to be used by, or under the direction of, a parent or other adult in the household, who is responsible for how children use them.

6.AI history and records

  • AI conversation history is opt-in. Conversations are saved only if the member chooses to save them. Saved history is visible only to that member, and the member can delete it at any time.
  • Audit log. Every AI request is logged for security and accountability. The log records a fingerprint of the prompt (a value derived from it), not the prompt’s content.
  • Our Data Retention policy explains how long these records are kept.

7.Voice input and meeting transcription

Voice input. The workout companion can accept spoken input using your browser’s built-in speech recognition. That speech is processed by your browser’s vendor (for example, Google or Apple) under its own terms, not by LifeAnchor’s AI provider connection.

Meeting transcription. The meeting recorder in the Prompter tool sends the audio you choose to transcribe to OpenAI using your household’s OpenAI key, under your household’s OpenAI account and terms. Get the consent of everyone you record where the law requires it.

8.How to turn AI off

AI features run only while your household has an AI provider connected. To turn them off, a household admin can remove the provider key in the app’s AI settings. A household admin can also turn Finance AI off for the household. Removing a key in LifeAnchor does not delete data the provider already received; to manage that, use your provider account’s own settings or contact the provider.
