LifeAnchor · Legal
Terms of Service
Effective October 13, 2026 · Version 1.2 · Operated by Ashlar Enterprises LLC
The agreement between you and Ashlar Enterprises LLC that governs your use of LifeAnchor, including how disputes are resolved.
1.In plain English
This summary is here to help you read the Terms. It is not a substitute for them. If the summary and the full text ever differ, the full text controls.
2.Who we are and what these Terms cover
LifeAnchor is operated by Ashlar Enterprises LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company with its office at 9905 S Pennsylvania Ave, Suite A, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. In these Terms, “Ashlar”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Ashlar Enterprises LLC. “You” and “your” mean the person using LifeAnchor.
“LifeAnchor” or the “Service” means the LifeAnchor website at lifeanchor.online, the LifeAnchor web application, the LifeAnchor apps for iOS and Android, and every feature, add-on, and related service we provide through them. These Terms apply in the same way however you reach LifeAnchor.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Ashlar. They incorporate the following policies, which form part of the agreement:
- the Privacy Policy and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy;
- the Children’s Privacy Notice;
- the Acceptable Use Policy;
- the Health & Medical Disclaimer;
- the AI Features Notice; and
- the Cookies & Browser Storage, Subprocessors, Data Retention, Security and Accessibility statements.
If one of those policies conflicts with these Terms, these Terms control, except that the Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy control on questions about how we handle personal information.
3.Accepting these Terms
You accept these Terms by creating a LifeAnchor account, by accepting them on the acceptance screen shown in the app, or by otherwise using LifeAnchor. If you already had a LifeAnchor account before this version took effect, the app will ask you to review and accept these Terms; you accept them by confirming on that screen, and continuing to use LifeAnchor after that confirms your acceptance.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create an account or use LifeAnchor. If you already have an account and do not agree, stop using LifeAnchor and ask us to delete your account as described in Section 17.
If you accept these Terms on behalf of a household, you confirm that you have the authority to do so and that you will make sure the adults you invite also accept them.
4.Who can use LifeAnchor
Account holders must be 18 or older. Only an adult who is at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where they live, if that is higher) and can form a binding contract may sign up for LifeAnchor or hold an adult account.
Minors may use LifeAnchor only as members of a household. A person under 18 may use LifeAnchor only through a child account created by their parent or legal guardian, or by a household admin acting with the parent’s or guardian’s authority. Children cannot sign up on their own. When you add a minor to your household, you confirm that:
- you are that child’s parent or legal guardian, or you are acting with the authority of the child’s parent or legal guardian;
- you consent, on the child’s behalf, to LifeAnchor collecting, storing and processing the child’s information as described in the Privacy Policy and the Children’s Privacy Notice;
- you will supervise the child’s use of LifeAnchor, including the features and permissions you turn on for them; and
- you accept these Terms on the child’s behalf and are responsible for the child’s compliance with them.
You are responsible for the members you add. The account holder is responsible for every member they add to the household and for activity in the household that the account holder controls, including the permissions they grant. If you invite another adult, that adult must accept these Terms for themselves.
You may not use LifeAnchor if we have previously terminated your account for violating these Terms, or if you are barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States or any other applicable jurisdiction.
5.Households, roles and permissions
LifeAnchor is organized around a household (a family account). Each household has:
- one primary account holder (the head of household), who controls the household’s settings, membership, add-ons and permissions;
- optionally, a co-head, who shares many of the primary account holder’s abilities;
- adult members, who have their own sign-in and the access the household grants them; and
- child members, whose accounts are created by the primary account holder or a household admin. Children do not receive email from us and sign in with a login the household sets up.
Much of a household’s information (for example, the shared calendar, chores, and the finance records a member is allowed to see) is visible to other household members according to the household’s settings and the permissions the account holder sets. Before you add information, check who in your household can see it. Some information is more private by default: health information is shared person by person and category by category, and sensitive health categories (such as mental health and reproductive health) require an explicit grant; Vital Documents Vault documents are private to their owner unless shared one document at a time; and calculator memory and AI conversation history are visible only to you. The Privacy Policy explains the sharing model in more detail.
If you belong to a homeschool co-op through LifeAnchor, a child’s label and bio within that co-op are visible to the other families in the co-op.
Removing a member. When a member is removed from a household, their account is deactivated and detached from the household. Their data is kept until deletion is requested, as described in Section 17.
Turning 18. When a child member is approaching 18, LifeAnchor gives notice six months ahead. At 18, that person’s records become their own, and they may move into an account of their own. From then on, they are an adult member responsible for their own acceptance of these Terms.
Disagreements between household members about access, permissions or content are for the household to resolve. We may act on the instructions of the primary account holder about the household’s settings, but we are not required to referee disputes between members, and we may decline instructions that we believe would violate the law, these Terms, or another member’s rights over their own data.
6.Your account and security
You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. You are responsible for:
- keeping your password, sign-in links and any devices you use to reach LifeAnchor secure, and not sharing your sign-in with anyone else;
- the sign-in credentials you set up for child members of your household;
- all activity under your account, except activity caused by our own failure to meet our obligations under these Terms; and
- telling us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account or your household has been accessed without permission.
You can sign in with your password or with a sign-in link we email to you, and, where we make it available, with a supported third-party sign-in. Two-step verification. Where enabled, adult accounts are asked to confirm a 6-digit code that we email to them when they sign in, and a device you choose to remember may skip that step for a limited time. We may require two-step verification for adult accounts. Keep access to your email account secure, because anyone who controls your email may be able to sign in to LifeAnchor.
For your protection, LifeAnchor sessions end after a period of inactivity and after a maximum length of time, and you will need to sign in again.
We take reasonable measures to protect LifeAnchor, which are described in our Security statement. No online service can be perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
7.The service and add-ons
LifeAnchor helps households organize everyday life. It is made up of modules, which we call add-ons. Depending on what your household turns on, these may include finance tracking, calendar, contacts, reminders, email, health and fitness tracking, the Emergency Card, the Vital Documents Vault, chores and rewards, homeschool and co-op tools, a resume builder and job tracker, kitchen tools (recipes, meal planning, pantry and shopping lists), trips, projects and mind maps, an entertainment tracker, a gym finder, and a scientific calculator.
Add-ons are listed in the in-app Store. Some add-ons are part of every household’s base features; others are optional. The features and add-ons available can differ between households and may change over time.
Kitchen and shopping. LifeAnchor does not connect to retailer accounts and never asks for or stores retailer passwords. Where the app lets you “place an order”, it creates a list or reminder for you; it does not buy anything on your behalf.
We may change the Service. We are continually developing LifeAnchor. We may add, change, or remove features or add-ons, change how they work, or set limits on their use (for example, rate limits to keep the Service reliable). If we remove a paid feature you are being charged for, we will tell you in advance where reasonably practicable and handle any charges as described in Section 9.
Third-party data. Some features display information from third-party sources, such as map and place data from OpenStreetMap contributors, weather forecasts from Open-Meteo, and food data from Open Food Facts. That information is provided by those sources, may be incomplete or out of date, and is subject to their licences.
8.Beta service
LifeAnchor is currently offered as a beta service. That means it is still being built and tested. During the beta:
- features may be incomplete, may change or be removed without notice, and may contain errors;
- the Service may be unavailable from time to time, including for maintenance and updates; and
- you should keep your own copies of anything important, such as identity documents, medical records and financial records, rather than relying on LifeAnchor as your only copy.
We will tell you when LifeAnchor leaves beta. The warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability in these Terms apply with particular force to beta features.
9.Pricing, trials and billing
No charges during the beta. LifeAnchor does not currently collect any payment card or other payment details, and nothing is charged.
Listed prices. The Store shows the prices of add-ons (for example, monthly, quarterly or annual prices). We may change those prices at any time. A listed price is not a charge: no amount will be charged to you unless and until you expressly agree to it under the paragraph headed “Before we ever charge you” below.
Trials. Some add-ons offer a free trial. Each household may use the trial for a given add-on only once. When a trial ends, the add-on continues as described in the Store at the time. During the beta, the end of a trial does not result in any charge.
Complimentary add-ons. We may give households add-ons at no charge (“comped” add-ons), for example during the beta. We may end a complimentary add-on at any time; if we do, we will give you reasonable notice where practicable.
Removing an add-on. If you or the account holder removes an add-on, access to it stops at once.
Before we ever charge you. Before Ashlar begins charging for LifeAnchor or any add-on, we will give the account holder clear notice of the price and billing terms and obtain the account holder’s express agreement to the charges. If any subscription will renew automatically, we will clearly disclose the automatic-renewal terms (including the price, the billing frequency, and how to cancel) at that time, and obtain any consent required by applicable automatic-renewal laws. Any additional billing terms presented then will form part of these Terms.
Refunds. Once paid billing begins, fees are non-refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time or unused add-ons, except where required by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any right to a refund or cancellation that you have under the law of the place where you live.
10.Your content
“Your content” means everything you or your household members put into LifeAnchor, such as text, notes, files, photos, documents, records, and the data that connected services send to LifeAnchor at your direction.
You own your content. As between you and Ashlar, you and your household members keep all rights you have in your content. We do not claim ownership of it.
The limited licence you give us. You grant Ashlar a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, process, display and otherwise use your content only as needed to provide, maintain, secure and support LifeAnchor for you and your household, to carry out your instructions (for example, sending a request to an AI provider or a connected account you chose), and to comply with the law. This licence includes letting our service providers do these things on our behalf, as described in our Subprocessors list. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it for advertising. The licence ends when your content is deleted from LifeAnchor, except for copies we are allowed to keep under our Data Retention policy.
Your responsibilities. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to put your content into LifeAnchor and to let us use it as described above. That includes information about other people, such as family members, and documents that belong to other people. You must not upload another person’s identity documents or sensitive information unless you have the authority to do so.
Keep your own records. LifeAnchor is not a backup service or an official record-keeping system. You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
We may remove or restrict content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or the law, or that puts other people or the Service at risk.
11.Connected services and your own AI keys
Integrations you choose. LifeAnchor lets you connect third-party services that you have your own accounts with, such as Google (Gmail, Calendar and Contacts), Microsoft (Outlook mail, calendar and contacts), Apple iCloud calendars and contacts, Oura, Dexcom and Tidepool, and lets you import files such as a Tandem pump export. When you connect one of these services, you direct us to exchange data with that provider on your behalf. Your use of each provider is governed by your own agreement with that provider, not by these Terms. We are not responsible for those providers’ services, availability, data accuracy, or practices. You can disconnect an integration at any time.
When you connect a mailbox, you are responsible for the messages you send and receive through it. Some integrations can read and write data in your connected account (for example, adding events to your Outlook calendar); review the permissions you grant before you connect.
Links to other sites. Some features link to other websites, such as a pharmacy’s website, or fetch a web page at an address you give us (for example, when importing a recipe or a job posting). We do not control those websites and are not responsible for them.
Your AI key, your charges. LifeAnchor’s AI features run on an AI provider account that your household connects using its own API key, such as an account with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google (Gemini), or another compatible provider. LifeAnchor does not supply AI services and does not pay for them. When you use an AI feature, the information the feature needs is sent to the provider your household chose, under that provider’s terms and privacy policy and your household’s account with it. All usage, charges and overages billed to your key are your household’s responsibility. We do not control, cap, or reimburse a provider’s billing. Keep your key secure and funded, and monitor your provider’s usage dashboard.
AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check it before you rely on it. The AI Features Notice explains which features use AI, the safeguards we apply, and how to turn AI off.
12.Not medical, financial or legal advice
LifeAnchor is an organizing and record-keeping tool. It does not provide medical, health, nutrition, mental-health, financial, tax, investment, legal or other professional advice, and nothing in LifeAnchor, including anything written by an AI feature, is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
LifeAnchor’s health features display and log information. They do not diagnose, treat, or interpret readings, and they never calculate or adjust insulin or medication doses. Device readings are shown as received and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. In an emergency, call 911. Please read the Health & Medical Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.
Finance tools, the Scientific Calculator, homeschool tools and similar features help you organize information and do arithmetic. Their results depend on what you enter and may contain errors. Always confirm anything important, such as a medication dose, a balance, a payment, a tax figure or a legal deadline, against official records and with a qualified professional.
13.Acceptable use
You must use LifeAnchor lawfully and respectfully, and only for personal, household and family purposes. You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Among other things, it prohibits illegal content, harassment, attempts to access other households’ data, security testing without permission, scraping, and misuse of AI features, connected mailboxes and the Emergency Card.
You may not resell, sublicense, or offer LifeAnchor to others as a commercial service, or use it to provide services to people outside your household, without our written permission.
14.Privacy and health data
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how we handle health information, including under Washington’s My Health My Data Act and Nevada law. Our Children’s Privacy Notice explains how children’s information is handled.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use advertising networks or third-party analytics or tracking tools.
LifeAnchor is a direct-to-consumer service. It is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, because it does not contract with health plans or healthcare providers. That means HIPAA generally does not apply to the information you keep in LifeAnchor; other laws do, as described in our privacy policies.
15.Our intellectual property and your feedback
Our rights. LifeAnchor, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos and the LifeAnchor name, belongs to Ashlar or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Apart from the limited right to use the Service described below, these Terms do not give you any rights in LifeAnchor or our trademarks.
Your right to use LifeAnchor. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use LifeAnchor for your personal, household and family purposes. This licence ends when your access ends.
Restrictions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of LifeAnchor; decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code, except to the extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction; remove any proprietary notices; or use our name or logos without our written permission.
Open-source components. LifeAnchor includes open-source software, such as math.js, that is licensed under its own terms. Those licences govern your use of those components, and nothing in these Terms limits your rights under them. Notices are available in the app, including in the Scientific Calculator’s MODE → About screen.
Feedback. If you send us ideas, suggestions or bug reports, including through the in-app Feedback button, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use them for any purpose without obligation to you. Please do not include sensitive personal or health information in feedback. Feedback you submit through the app, together with the address of the page you were on, is stored in Ashlar’s customer-support system.
16.Suspension and termination
By you. You may stop using LifeAnchor at any time. To close your account and have your data deleted, follow Section 17. The primary account holder may remove members and add-ons at any time.
By us. We may suspend or limit access to LifeAnchor, or to a particular feature, account, member or household, if we reasonably believe that:
- you or a member of your household has materially or repeatedly breached these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- it is necessary to protect the safety, security or privacy of any person, including other members of your household or other households;
- it is necessary to protect LifeAnchor, Ashlar, or our service providers from harm, abuse, fraud or legal liability; or
- we are required to do so by law or by a court or government authority.
We may also end these Terms and close an account on reasonable notice for any other reason, including if we stop offering LifeAnchor. Where reasonably practicable and lawful, we will give you notice before suspending or terminating your access and a chance to retrieve a copy of your content. We may act without prior notice where there is a risk of harm, a security threat, or a legal requirement.
What survives. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue after termination will continue, including the sections on your content (to the extent of any retained copies), intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, dispute resolution, governing law and general terms.
17.Deleting your account and getting a copy of your data
You can download a copy of your data yourself at any time from Settings → More → Your Data. LifeAnchor does not yet offer a self-service delete button. To delete your account or your household’s data, or to request access to your data, a correction, or the withdrawal of a consent you gave, email [email protected] from the email address on your account.
- We will verify your identity before acting on the request, to protect you and your household.
- Once your identity is verified, we will complete the deletion within 30 days. We respond to every request within 45 days of receiving it; if we reasonably need more time to respond, we may extend that once by up to another 45 days, and we will tell you before the first 45 days end.
- If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email with the word “Appeal”. We will respond to your appeal within 45 days. Washington residents whose appeal is denied may contact the Washington State Attorney General.
Some records are kept after deletion, as explained in our Data Retention policy. In short, these are: a record of your privacy request and a minimal record that the account was deleted (each kept for 24 months); proof that you accepted these Terms (kept for 5 years after your account closes, to enforce these Terms, including Section 21); billing and tax records once paid billing begins (7 years); anything under a legal hold or a law-enforcement preservation request, until it is released; the audit log of access to health information, which we keep for at least six years as a security record; and encrypted backups, which are kept for about 7 days on a rolling basis, so deleted data leaves them within 30 days, and which are not restored except for disaster recovery (if one is, we re-apply deletions). When a Vault document is deleted, the encryption key that protects it is destroyed immediately.
Deleting a household or a child member’s data is a request the primary account holder makes. An adult member may request deletion of their own account and data.
18.Warranty disclaimer
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, those warranties are limited to the shortest period and narrowest scope the law allows.
19.Limitation of liability
These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not limit liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, such as, in some jurisdictions, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or willful misconduct. If the law where you live does not allow some of these limits, they apply only to the extent that law allows.
We are not responsible for losses caused by third-party services you choose to connect (including AI providers, email providers and health-device services), by events outside our reasonable control, or by your failure to keep your sign-in secure.
20.Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Ashlar and its members, managers, employees and agents from and against any third-party claims, and related losses, liabilities, damages, costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of (a) your content, including content you upload about other people; (b) your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; (c) your violation of any law or of anyone else’s rights; or (d) the use of LifeAnchor by members of your household whom you added, to the extent caused by your failure to meet your responsibilities for them under these Terms.
We will tell you promptly about any claim for which we seek indemnity, and we may participate in the defense with counsel of our choice at our own expense. You may not settle a claim that imposes any obligation on us without our written consent. This section does not require you to indemnify us for claims caused by our own negligence or misconduct.
21.Dispute resolution: arbitration and class-action waiver
21.1 Informal resolution first. Before either of us starts an arbitration or a small-claims case, the party with the dispute must send the other a written Notice of Dispute. Send yours by email to [email protected] or by mail to Ashlar Enterprises LLC, 9905 S Pennsylvania Ave, Suite A, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. We will send ours to the email address on your account. The Notice must include the sender’s name, the email address associated with the LifeAnchor account, a description of the dispute, and the relief requested, and must be personally signed by the person bringing the claim (not only by a lawyer). For 60 days after the Notice is received, we will both try in good faith to resolve the dispute, including, if either of us asks, through an individual telephone or video conference. Neither of us may start an arbitration or a small-claims case until that 60-day period ends. Any applicable limitation period is suspended during the 60 days.
21.2 Agreement to arbitrate. If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and Ashlar agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, LifeAnchor, or our relationship (a “Dispute”) will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, except as provided in Section 21.4. This includes Disputes about the scope, validity, enforceability or arbitrability of this Section 21, which the arbitrator will decide, except that a court will decide any question about the validity or enforceability of Section 21.5 (class-action and jury waiver) and Section 21.7 (mass arbitration). This agreement to arbitrate is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
21.3 How arbitration works. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, as modified by this Section 21. The AAA’s rules are available at www.adr.org. A single arbitrator will decide the Dispute. Payment of filing, administration and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA’s rules, and Ashlar will pay the fees the AAA’s Consumer Arbitration Rules require a business to pay. If your claim is for US$10,000 or less, you may choose whether the arbitration is conducted on documents only, by telephone or video, or in person. Any in-person hearing will take place in the county where you live or another place we both agree on. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could award, but only in favor of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent needed to provide relief on that party’s individual claim. The arbitrator’s decision is final and binding, and judgment on it may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.
21.4 Exceptions. Either of us may (a) bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies, stays in that court, and is brought only on an individual basis; and (b) seek an injunction or other equitable relief in court to stop the actual or threatened infringement or misappropriation of intellectual property rights. To the extent a claim seeks public injunctive relief that applicable law does not allow to be waived or arbitrated, that request will be decided by a court after the arbitration of all other claims, and the court case will be stayed until the arbitration is complete.
21.6 If the class waiver is unenforceable. If a court finally decides that the class-action waiver in Section 21.5 is unenforceable as to a particular claim or request for relief, then that claim or request (and only that one) will be severed from the arbitration and decided by a court in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, after the individual arbitration of all other claims is complete. The court case will be stayed until then.
21.7 Mass arbitration. If 25 or more demands for arbitration that raise substantially similar Disputes are filed against Ashlar by or with the help of the same or coordinated counsel or organizations, the demands will be administered in batches of up to 50 demands each (and the final batch may have fewer). Only one batch will proceed at a time; each batch will be assigned to a single arbitrator who will decide it in one proceeding, with one set of fees per batch; and the remaining demands will be held, with any applicable limitation periods suspended, until the earlier batches are resolved. You and Ashlar agree to cooperate in good faith with the AAA to implement this batch approach. If the AAA’s rules then in effect provide a process for mass arbitrations, that process will apply to the extent consistent with this Section 21.7.
21.8 Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate within 30 days after you first accept these Terms (or, if you were a LifeAnchor user before this version, within 30 days after you first accept this version in the app). To opt out, email [email protected] with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” and include (a) your full name, (b) the email address associated with your LifeAnchor account, and (c) a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms. If you opt out, Disputes will be decided in court as described in Section 22, and the jury-trial waiver in Section 21.5 will not apply to you.
21.9 Changes to this section. If we make a material change to this Section 21, the change will not apply to any Dispute of which we had written notice before the change took effect. You may reject a material change by emailing us at [email protected] within 30 days after the change takes effect, in which case the most recent version of this Section 21 that you accepted will continue to apply.
21.10 Survival and severability. This Section 21 survives the end of these Terms and the closure of your account. Except as provided in Sections 21.6 and 21.7, if any part of this Section 21 is found unenforceable, the rest of it remains in effect.
22.Governing law and courts
These Terms, and any Dispute between you and Ashlar, are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 21.
Any Dispute that is not subject to arbitration (including if you opt out, small-claims matters, requests for injunctions over intellectual property, and any claim severed under Section 21.4 or 21.6) will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, except that small-claims cases may be brought in the small-claims court for the county where you live. You and Ashlar consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection to venue there.
If you live outside the United States, mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country may give you rights that these Terms cannot take away. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights.
23.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Each version shows its effective date and version number at the top of the page.
Material changes. If we make a material change, we will give you notice before it takes effect, for example through the app or by email to the address on your account, and we will ask you to review and accept the updated Terms on the in-app acceptance screen. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using LifeAnchor and ask us to delete your account, and the version you last accepted will continue to apply until your account is closed. A material change to the billing terms will not apply to charges you have already agreed to without your express agreement.
Other changes. Changes that are not material, such as clarifications, corrections, or updates that reflect new features, take effect when posted.
Changes to Section 21 (Dispute resolution) are subject to Section 21.9.
24.General terms
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies they incorporate, are the entire agreement between you and Ashlar about LifeAnchor and replace any earlier agreements, including the short acceptance notice shown in earlier versions of the app.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in full effect, subject to Section 21.10.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms, for example in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, as long as the assignee agrees to be bound by them. Any attempted assignment in violation of this section is void.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms, that is not a waiver of our right to do so later. A waiver is effective only if it is in writing and signed by us.
Force majeure. We are not responsible for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, government action, failures of public utilities or the internet, or failures of third-party hosting, storage or communications providers.
Export controls and sanctions. You may use LifeAnchor only in compliance with US export-control and economic-sanctions laws. You confirm that you are not located in a country or region subject to comprehensive US sanctions, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Electronic communications. You agree to receive communications from us electronically, including by email (for example, sign-in links and verification codes from [email protected]) and through notices in the app. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications we provide electronically satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing. Notices to you will be sent to the email address on your account and are effective when sent. Legal notices to Ashlar must be sent to [email protected] or to our mailing address below.
Mobile apps. If you download a LifeAnchor app from an app store, these Terms apply to your use of the app. Your download is also subject to the app store’s own terms, and the app store operator is not responsible for LifeAnchor.
Relationship. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment or agency relationship between you and Ashlar. There are no third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
Headings and interpretation. Headings and plain-English summaries are for convenience only. “Including” means “including without limitation”.
